BITZER is the global player and innovation driver of refrigeration and air conditioning technologies. Compressor technology made by BITZER is a central component of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment and cools temperature-sensitive goods. Their products maintain optimum temperatures on buses, trains and in buildings and are part of modern cooling systems. As the only company worldwide, the traditional enterprise based in Sindelfingen, Germany, develops and manufactures all three compressor technologies: reciprocating, screw and scroll compressors.

The heart of refrigeration and cooling equipment is often hidden. A good reason for Communication Consultants (CC) to support BITZER by making visible what is usually concealed from the outside. Since 2013, CC has been doing classic PR work, corporate publishing, social media as well as film and individual projects on a broad scale for BITZER. A current highlight project for the company is the new and 70 meter high corporate headquarters in Sindelfingen, the construction for which is planned to be finished in late 2018. CC accompanies the building phase with a suitable communication concept. „BITZER’s transparency in regards to the new building and its integration into the neighborhood sheds a good light on the company“, judged the local newspaper in Sindelfingen on August 5, 2017.

For BITZER’s social media channels, namely Facebook, Google+, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Xing, CC has developed shareables, headers, videos and a lot more, and oversees and edits the modern online customer magazine COMPACT with interesting news, user stories and trade fair videos in German and English for readers worldwide. The printed staff magazine COMPRESSED comes in three languages and provides all BITZER employees around the world with corporate news. A definite highlight in 2017 were two image films that introduced the ECOSTAR and ECOLITE condensing units as well as a video about the IQ-module that is used for reciprocating compressors.

Providing insights

Balluff is both a family-owned company and an important employer in the region. Therefore, the regional media work in the daily press plays an important role without neglecting the trade press. Again, the communicative openness shows off: At the annual press talk, specialized and local journalists were able to have a look at the modern production plants at the headquarters and directly discuss the business development with the corporate management. Accordingly, Balluff positions itself as a technological leader, an enabler of Industry 4.0 and a modern family-owned company.

What could be more obvious than designing the communication for DIN, the German Institute for Standardization, in an absolutely standardized way? This is precisely why we prefer doing it differently – and like this, we attract the attention that DIN deserves. We do that with a customer magazine which is called A4, which is published in a way more compact format and which convinces with exceptional stories and a fresh layout off the norm. With customized public relations that exactly transport the messages which were defined in advance. With creative ideas for social media with our “DINstage”. And with a reputation management which is strategically placing all communication measures on a solid footing and which makes success measurable.

By the way, being different clearly is well received. For example, by the jury of the 8th International Creative Media Award which honored the concept of our outstanding brochure “DIN – From Zero to One Hundred/ Von Null auf Einhundert” with a Gold Award. It also goes down well with the media that, due to our jubilee communication, reported more than 1000 times about 100 years of DIN in nearly three months.

Less health insurance company, more Schwenninger! Instead of the hundredth allergy advice, the customer magazine published by the health insurance company Schwenninger Krankenkasse puts people and thrilling stories in the spotlight. The themed magazine leaves trodden paths, takes heart and shows new perspectives – thanks to an authentic visual language. Fun meets facts: The mix of topics includes news from the insurance company, interviews, detailed reports, infographics and entertaining as well as (un)necessary facts. Editorial content and company topics are, however, strictly separated - so the reader knows what to expect. In a subtle way, the magazine perspektive carries values of the company, positions it as a reliable service provider and therefore strengthens the image. For the biggest possible synergies, all topics are harmonized with ongoing marketing activities by the Schwenninger. All actions are meant to enhance the connection between customers, partners, employees and the Schwenninger and to arouse interest of new customers.

Money is not something you talk about, or so people say. This makes working on a customer magazine for a financial specialist rather difficult. So it’s best not to mention money at all. That’s how we do things for Grenke AG from Baden-Baden. And the result is “Mittelpunkt”.

The magazine highlights topics that don’t seem related to money at first glance – relationships, movement, speed, innovations and partnership. Mittelpunkt bridges the gap between business and lifestyle. Mittelpunkt is a balancing act of factual information, intelligent entertainment and useful advice for readers’ private and professional lives. The magazine makes use of the full range of genres – reports, interviews, commentaries, glosses, contemporary topics, as well as more unusual stories. There are virtually no limits to subject matter. And it´s all written and edited by professionals.

This goes down well – with the readers and Grenke alike. As a result, some of its customer marketing communications are based on the magazine’s content. So it turns out you can talk about money – at least in a roundabout way.

The video shows the Bosch Connect Cube

How can members of the Bosch Automotive Steering business unit be encouraged to try out Bosch Connect? The task was to inform people about the features of the internal social enterprise platform at Bosch and to make this new way of collaborating appealing to them. The concept revolves around the Bosch Connect Cube, a virtual 3D topic die that can be explored using virtual reality goggles. The Bosch Connect Cube is an inspirational example for communicating complex subject matter using state-of-the-art VR technology.

The Bosch Connect Cube won the internal Bosch Communications Award 2017 and was nominated for the Digital Communications Awards 2016.
